Pet hair is easier to manage when cleanup happens in small, regular sessions instead of waiting for a major buildup. A few simple habits can make a noticeable difference.
Start with the pet
Regular brushing helps remove loose hair before it lands on furniture and clothing. The right brushing schedule depends on coat type and shedding season.
Work in short sections
For fabric furniture, use short strokes and work one cushion or panel at a time. Reusable pet-hair rollers can be useful because they collect fur without disposable sticky sheets.
Clean pet sleeping areas often
Wash or vacuum pet bedding regularly. Hair that accumulates in beds is easily transferred back to pets and then onto furniture.
Keep a tool where hair collects
